Fenland 10 - 29/10/06
On a cold but clear day, 6 Bushy's competed in the Fenland 10 - after the brilliant support given to runners on the Great Eastern Run, this was back to minimal support, making it a much more difficult run mentally.

St Ive's 10k - 23/07/06
Now, how many races are there where some of the marshal's are armed with SA-80 rifles? This is one....! Another very hot day saw runners enter RAF Wyton airfield and run the middle 5k along the runway perimeter track (which, by the way, was extremely hot and exposed, with no shade at all). Anyway, Bushfield had 8 runners in the main race, as follows:
Barrie Barrett 00:43:30 (77), Roy Pilkington 00:43:40 (84), Lyndsey Woods 00:50:56 (237), Sheila Harrhy 00:54:56 (313), Alan Miles 01:01:48 (412), Marianne Blessett 01:03:31 (431), Antoinette Rendle 01:12:42 (484), Jo Dennison 01:14:13 (489)

Eye Handicap - 20/07/06
There really should be a Steward's Inquiry into some of the handicap's allocated to Bushfield runners - no names, Stan the Man, but it looks like some runners gave bungs to the organisers! Anyway, 8 Bushy Boys & Babes took part in this evening run prior to a very welcome barbecue. Results were as follows:

| Stan Thornton | 00:46:49 | 00:14:31 | 00:32:18 | 3 |

Chiquita Bananaman 10k Chase - 25/06/06
The first ever running of the Chiquita Bananaman 10k Chase in aid of Leukaemia Research saw 7 Club members travelling down to Victoria Park in London for one of the more unusual races. The object of the race was to pass as many of the 10 TV celebrities dressed as bananas as possible in the race. Race conditions were hot and humid, and with the course being over 3 laps within the park, some congestion occurred due to slower runners and walkers. However, it was a really enjoyable event, and I am sure we will be back. Only the celebrity bananas were timed, with runners being given a place and number of bananas passed, as follows:
Banana 2 00:33:45
Banana 1 00:39:44
Banana 3 00:42:31
Jamie Everitt (167/7)

Five Club runners braved the donkeys, Kiss Me Quick hats, and amusement arcades to run the Blackpool Half Marathon. Marianne Blessett, in her first full race since the London Marathon, finished in 02:32:44 (1252/1364). All agreed this was a hard race!
